NoMachine is a remote desktop tool that is effective in establishing strong, consistent connections from PCs to remote Mac desktops. In order for NoMachine to work, you must be connected to the VPN and the computer you are connecting to and from both need NoMachine installed. Further instructions for using the software are included below. Connecting from PCs to Remote Mac (New Connection)
- Open the NoMachine application on your local device and click through the welcome windows. When you arrive at the screen below, click “Add” in the upper left hand corner.
- This will bring you to a screen asking for details on the remote computer you are connecting to. For Name, you are free to enter any name you’d like to help you remember what device it is. For Host, you will want to enter the Name or IP address of the remote Mac you are connecting to. The port and protocol can be left as is.
- This should bring you to a screen where you are asked for a Username and Password. Enter your Psychiatry account information for username/password and check the box to save the password in the connection file. From here, you should just have to click “Ok” through a few screens and then you will be connected to the remote device.
