WiFi Networks

Background Information

There are several wireless networks for staff and faculty on premises. The campus-provided network is “UWNet”, while the inter-university system is called “eduroam,” which is a combination of “education” and “roam.” UWNet was implemented April 2022 and uses NetID credentials to register your computer to your digital profile.

For security reasons, UWNet does not allow full access shared drives or printers. For these services, a VPN connection is required, which can be used on either of the networks mentioned above.
