What kind of sticker do I have?
There are two distinct types of stickers (also known as “asset tags”) found on laptops and desktop. The type you have on your computer determines if you’ll contact SMPH (the university) or University Hospital Information Services (UH IS). See the description and examples below.
Black and white stickers that start with “PSY-“:
If the sticker on your device is black and white and has a QR code, then you’ll contact the Department of Psychiatry IT Help Desk. This sticker should be in the bottom right of a laptop with its lid closed or in the top panel towards the front on desktops. Red arrows indicate the phone number and email addresses to contact the Help Desk: 608-262-7622 and support@psychiatry.wisc.edu. The blue arrows indicate the PSY-name, which are indicated below. Please include the PSY-name in when you open a request in Navigator.
UH-themed stickers with bar codes:
On the other hand, more colorful and much larger stickers (tags) can be found on UH-managed devices. In the example below “UWHealth” is circled and the phone number is indicated, which is (608) 265-7777, as demonstrated below:
