We may already have something in stock for you should you need a new department-funded device! We recently switched from reactive to proactive purchasing, so our response times will be faster when it comes to new devices and even when it comes to troubleshooting.
If you need something that is not department-funded, such as items that need to be purchased with grant or professional funds, IT staff will need to help approve all of these purchases unless it is from the SMPH Standard Device Catalog. This is due to the need to standardize models whenever possible for security and support reasons. We do recognize the need for items that may not be on the standard device catalog, but we ask that you consult with IT before placing any purchase requests.
To consult with IT about any non-standard purchases, or to see if we have a device in stock for you, please use our general support request. This will be routed to our team at WisPIC and we will gladly help you with your request.
If we help you find a non-standard hardware option that we agree to support, we will work with you to fill out the standardized purchase request form. Again, this should only be filled out after talking with IT first. Once this form is filled out, it will go to the purchasing team in IIT (not the IT team at WisPIC) to review and submit the order, and then will be approved by the finance team in Psychiatry. After all of those steps are done, the order is placed and will eventually shipped to WisPIC for inventorying and deployment.
